FLOWER ESSENCES – are an amazing Vibrational Tool!
How do Essences work?
Flower Essences are created from living, organic wildflowers that been picked at the height of their blooms. Flower essences convey the specific code or pattern that resides within each flower. Through a unique and sacred process, the vibrational signature held within the blossom is imprinted in the pure water used to make the essence, thus charging the water . The charged water is then bottled and preserved in vodka. I have chosen to use “Prairie Vodka”, which is made with respect, certified organic and distilled locally in Bensen, MN. I will say that I am told there is less alcohol in a dose of flower essences than there is in a ripe banana. I will use another preservative on request. I also use Sacred Healing Water. Scared Healing Water is water that has been “activated” through precise prayers and intentions.
Flower essences work on subtle ‘unseen’ levels to gently re-establish balance and peace of mind. The essences cover many negative emotional and mental states. They work by infusing us with the positive qualities that we lack rather than by suppressing the disturbance. They help us to release blockages which may be hindering growth and offer us opportunities to learn more about ourselves. The flower essence is then taken orally, or can be applied directly to the skin. They are safe, non-toxic, and have no side effects. Flower essences can safely be used alongside pharmaceuticals—or better yet, in place of them. Essences are compatible with any other modality you are using, and they will enhance and accelerate your healing process.
How do I use an Essence?
The most traditional way to take essences is orally, using the drops on or under the tongue from the dropper. There is faster absorption under the tongue. You can also put the drops in water and drink.
Essences work very nice topically, as well. They are absorbed through the skin. Apply essences topically to any part of the body. Rub or drop on pulse points, the temples, wrists, behind ears, forehead, back of neck, the bottom of feet. Put the essence on a cotton swab and pulse it in a stimulating rhythm, and sometimes go in a circular pattern. Rub in the palms of your hands and fan them through the aura.
Essences are very good in baths. Bathing with them (and essential oils) is awesome. You can mix essences in with the oils you are using for massage. (This is very powerful, and great for the massage therapist as well as the recipient, as the hands are absorbing.) Mix them with essential oils any time to add to their vibrational energies. You can put them into oils, potions, lotions and creams.
The standard dose is four drops, four times a day, under the tongue. Regular use of the flower remedies builds the strength of their action. Therefore, potency is increased not by taking more drops at one time, but by using them on a frequent, consistent basis. Sometimes I will recommend a different dosage.
If you have an Essence Spray, you will not take internally. Spray on your body, your space, or as directed on your bottle. The spray will include essential oils and NO alcohol. Essence Spray is taken daily or when you feel called to use!
How long should I take an Essences?
It depends on how long you have been dealing with an issue. Is it long-standing or short-term issues? It can take a while to be able to hold the new frequency. Things might improve and you stop taking the essence- and then find you need to start taking it again- to get the frequency back. Take it until you can hold the frequency yourself. The length of time can depend on the strength of the disharmony. If you have had a pattern for a long, long time, it might take a little longer to shift it, and it may be helpful to take a particular essence for a while in order to maintain a particular frequency.
We first want to choose an essence that supports one main issue- and use essences that will support that outcome- sometimes from many directions. (Thus more essences.) Work on the amount of issues that your nervous system would like to take on at once. (If you do more, it won’t hurt you, it just takes time for your system to sort through and see what it wants and what to eliminate.
The history of Flower Essences
It is believed that flower essences have been around for a very long time, possibly dating as far back as Ancient China. The earliest written record of their use is by the 16th century healer and mystic, Paracelsus, who collected dew from flowers to heal emotional disharmony.
Flower essences were discovered, or rediscovered, by Dr Edward Bach, a prominent English physician, bacteriologist, immunologist, homeopath and herbalist. In the early 1930. Dr Bach abandoned his medical practice to search the fields and woods of nature for a simpler and more natural system of healing treatment. Dr Bach had noticed that the patients who came to see him for their physical ailments, often had emotional problems too. He felt the two were linked. After much observation and research, he identified twelve groups of personality traits or archetypal patterns of behavior in people. He searched the fields for a healing remedy for each of these types, and he called the first twelve flowers he discovered ‘The Twelve Healers’.
In the course of his research, Dr Bach had found that the dew collected from a flower in sunlight possessed a special healing quality. Through this discovery, the ‘sun method’ of extraction was developed. Dr Bach went on to discover twenty six more flower remedies, and the set of thirty eight, plus a composite of five remedies called ‘Rescue Remedy’ make up what is known today as the ‘Bach Flower Remedies’. Today, the work of Dr Bach continues to serve as an inspiration and guide to many who work in this field.
